BORROWER’S CARD:
For Grades 2- 6 pupils/ Grade 7- Grade 10, Senior High School, College students and faculty and personnel, school ID is used in borrowing books and availing of other Library and Audio-Visual services.
Nursery, Kindergarten and Grade 1 pupils are not required to have Borrower’s Cards. The teacher in-charge will be the one to borrow books in the library for his/her class and is responsible for the care and preservation of the said materials.
LIBRARY RESOURCES
Circulation and Fiction Collection:
The Circulation Collection is arranged based on the Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme; the Fiction Collection is arranged according to Author’s Number.
Reserved Books:
These are books removed from the shelves as requested by faculty or by students on specific period. These will be placed at the shelf inside the circulation counter. Books or other collection of the Library and AVC of limited copies but often used by the faculty and pupils/ students.
General Reference Collection:
Print resources are “For Inside Use Only”. These include dictionaries, encyclopedias, almanacs, yearbooks, directories and atlases.
Filipiniana, Rizaliana, Mother Ignacia Collection:
Filipiniana books are written by Filipino authors, the subject of which is about the Philippines.
Rizaliana are books about Dr. Jose P. Rizal. These books are found in the Filipiniana Section.
Mother Ignacia Collection are special collection of books about the foundress of the RVM Congregation and its history.
Picture Books:
These are collection of books intended for beginning readers. This collection is “For Room Use Only”.
Print and Online Resources:
These are electronic books, database, newspapers, entertainment magazines and scholarly journals of current and back issues which may be used in leisure reading or as reference for research. Print periodicals are “For Room Use Only” while online resources can be accessed remotely by Log-in ID and providing the password.
BORROWING OF LIBRARY RESOURCES
A. Borrowing of Books by the Basic Education and College Faculty
1. Books in the Library can be borrowed for one (1) month and are renewable, unless overdue and not needed by others.
2. Faculty members may borrow a maximum of ten (10) books/ resources. Faculty members who have overdue books / resources will not be allowed to borrow unless all accounts are settled.
3. Generally, print journals and magazines are exclusive for ROOM USE. However, to meet the needs of the faculty for professional growth, they can charge out a maximum of three (3) back issues magazines at a time for one (1) month. Faculty are held responsible for the preservation of these periodicals.
4. Students’ collections may be borrowed by the faculty for a month and may be renewed for another month if not needed by others.
5. Lost or any damage/s of borrowed books should be reported to the librarian. If it occurred during the borrowed period, it shall be the responsibility of the borrower.
B. Borrowing of books by the Basic Education and College Students
Students may borrow books from their unit library by presenting their school ID;
BASIC EDUCATION : Grade 2 pupils may borrow one (1) fiction book;
Grade 3 pupils may borrow two (2) circulation (fiction) books.
Grade 4 – Grade 10 pupils / students may borrow five (5) circulation books
SHS / COLLEGE LEVEL : Students may be allowed to borrow a maximum of five (5) circulation books
Basic Education, Senior High School and College students may borrow circulation books for two (2) weeks and overnight book for overnight use; these may be renewed for another week.
Electronic books may be borrowed/ downloaded for a maximum of eighty (80) days and can be used offline.
Overdue books will be charged with corresponding amount. For Basic Education, overdue circulation books will be charged Php 1.00 per day per book excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. For College and Senior High School students, Php 5.00 will be charged for every book per day and Php 5.00 per hour for overnight books excluding Sundays and Holidays.
Reserved books can be charged out for overnight use and should be returned the following day.
Reservation of books will be for one (1) day only. Unclaimed reserved books will be returned to the shelves without prior notice.
Students with overdue books will not be allowed to borrow until all loaned books/resources have been returned, and fines are settled.
AUDIO VISUAL CENTER

The Audio-Visual Center houses the non-print educational materials and equipment for instructional and institutional activities.

AUDIO VISUAL RESOURCES:
Visual Materials
These include charts, dioramas, kits, posters, pictures, maps, globes, transparencies, models and shapes.
Audio / Video Materials
These include CDs, DVDs, VCDs, and Cassette Tapes to supplement the needs of the faculty and students in their teaching and learning.
Audio-Visual Equipment
These include Projectors, Interactive Hiteboard, CD player (with or without USB port), DVD player, Document Camera, Digital Camera, Television Monitor, Keyboard, Microphone, Karaoke and Boombox.
Musical Instruments
These include guitars, maracas, keyboards, beatbox, tambourines and ukulele.
BORROWER’S CARD
A pupil/student must present his/her ID to avail of AV resources.
BORROWING PRIVILEGE:
Elementary, Junior High School and Senior High School Pupils/Students:
Only Grade 4 to Grade 10 and Senior High pupils/ students and College students will be allowed to borrow from the Audio-Visual Center.
For Basic Education pupil / student, he/she is allowed to borrow AV materials and equipment for a maximum of two (2) hours and may be renewed for another hour unless overdue or needed by others. However, College students may borrow AV resources for a day and should be returned before 5:00 p.m. Only the following may be borrowed by the pupils / students;

Musical Instruments (Beatbox (for SHS and College students only), guitars, maracas, tambourines and ukulele)

Other AV materials and equipment not mentioned above, if needed in any school activity, may be borrowed by their teacher in – charge / professors.
3. Overdue materials and equipment will be charged Php10.00 per hour per material and equipment, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. Overnight fees apply.
JOB REQUEST SERVICE
The Audio-Visual Center accommodates requests for documentation, downloading, file-transfer, dubbing and recording.
The requesting personnel shall fill out the Job Request Form (VPACA-LIBAVC-FO-014).
Request for dubbing, recording, and documentation of school events, transferring of pictures, video, music to USB and CD should be filed at least three (3) days before the actual need of the materials. Urgent job request shall be subject to the availability of the AV personnel.
Requests for transfer of pictures will be sent via Microsoft OneDrive Link. The link will expire after three (3) days.
CDs and USB shall not be provided by the AV Center.
Repair of equipment and dubbing for personal use shall not be allowed unless approved by the school administration.
Request of personnel and outsource for AV services shall be subjected for approval of the School President. Service fee shall be settled at the Finance Office.
AV Librarians shall approve and receive school related job requests.
GUIDELINES ON THE USE OF CLASSROOM AV EQUIPMENT
The Audio-Visual Center provides services that cater to the Audio-Visual needs of the faculty and pupils/students. These services include the reservation, delivery, installation and retrieval of equipment.
Reservation of Classroom AV Equipment
Reservation of Roving LCD, Sound System, Microphones, shall be made at least two (2) days before the actual use. Schedule of use should be specific (Date, Period, and Time). Equipment are not guaranteed available within less than 2-day notice and will not be granted if reservation is made on the actual day of use.
Only faculty/ personnel/ professor can reserve for equipment.
The reservation shall be on a “First Come, First Served” basis.
Reservation of equipment is different from the reservation of facility. Thus, even if the reservation of facility has been made, but the equipment is not reserved, use of equipment will not be granted/ guaranteed.
Delivery/ Installation of Equipment/ Borrowing of Remote Control
The AV Staff will not install the roving equipment without the teacher/ professor/ requestor to ensure the safety of the equipment.
If the class ends 15 minutes or more, earlier than the schedule, the requestor should inform the AV Staff immediately for the retrieval of equipment.
For the classrooms with installed LCD Projectors and LED TV monitors, the remote control shall be endorsed to the Class Advisers at the beginning of the school year.
Use of Classroom AV Equipment
For venues with installed LCD projectors and LED TV Monitors, use of personal laptop is discouraged. Only computers provided by the ITRC will be used. This is to ensure the safety and longevity of the VGA cables.
Other classroom equipment (Amplifiers, Microphones, Y-Connector and Extension Cord) shall be endorsed to the Class Advisers at the beginning of the school year. This shall be their responsibility and will be checked at the end of the school year for clearance purposes. Moving of installed classroom AV equipment to another venue/learning facility is strictly prohibited.
An orientation with the faculty will be conducted by the AV Staff as regards the proper utilization of equipment and accessories prior the endorsement and usage of the said equipment and accessories.
If any AV equipment will be retrieved by the AV Staff, the teacher/s will be informed at least three (3) days before the day of retrieval.
The AV Technician/Technician Aide shall retrieve and check the installed AV equipment after use.
Requestor shall inform immediately the AV Staff regarding damage / malfunction of the installed AV equipment.
Proper care and handling of AV equipment is encouraged from all users. All AV equipment and AV accessories installed in the classrooms shall be repaired/ replaced up to the second (2nd) reported malfunction. Any damage/ malfunction beyond such will be subject for investigation and shall be recommended for replacement by the section/ Class Adviser/ Subject Teacher.
Endorsed AV materials and equipment to the department/ Subject Area Coordinator will be checked / monitored bi-monthly by the AV Technician/ AV Technician Aide.
Faculty and personnel shall be held liable for any requested equipment. Violation of any guidelines stated above will be subjected to the following:
1st Offense: Verbal Warning
2nd Offense: Written Memo
3rd Offense: Suspension of borrowing privileges of AV equipment for 1 month
LOST / DAMAGED BORROWED LIBRARY AND AVC RESOURCES
Lost/damaged Library and AVC resources should be reported at once so that overdue fines will be imposed. Accounts should be settled within a week after the reported loss. Expensive resources can be settled within the school year before the signing of clearance.
Lost/damaged Library and AVC resources should be replaced with the same author, title or latest edition or any material related to the curriculum on a specified period (Basic Education – within a year; College – within the semester).
Lost / damaged AV equipment should be replaced with the same brand / model.
If the material is irreplaceable, 100% acquisition and processing expenses must be paid to the Finance Office.
Total amount paid at the Finance Office for lost/ damaged resources will be requested during the following school year for replacement of titles following the Selection and Acquisition Policy.
GENERAL CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE
All Library and AV Center users are expected to manifest proper behavior and contribute to the Library and AV Center atmosphere conducive to study and research.
Books and other AV equipment/ resources are treated as friends therefore, care and proper handling are expected from the users.
All personal belongings must be deposited near the entrance door before entering the Library.
Eating, sleeping and talking aloud inside the Library and AVC are not allowed.
Stealing, vandalism or hiding Library and AVC resources are strictly prohibited. Anyone found guilty will be subject to disciplinary action.
All materials brought out of the Library and AV Center should be properly charged out in the Circulation Counter.
Electronic items (mp3, mp4, iPad, iPhone, Cellular phones, Tablet) should be in silent mode or turned off while inside the Library and AV Center.
